Will Phentermine show up on a drug test?
No, Phentermine is not likely to show up on a drug test. However, it can cause a false positive for Amphetamines because of how the medication works, which is why it may show up as Adderall in some drug tests. However, Phentermine itself is not a controlled drug.
Phentermine stays in your system for about 20-24 hours, depending on your body’s physiology (1). It will most likely not get detected as Phentermine unless the urine test is specifically done to check the levels of Phentermine.
A normal drug test will not detect it, but as I said, it could cause a false positive for Amphetamines. If such a thing happens, it’s recommended to go for more selective techniques, like Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry, to deliver accurate results (2).
