Can you get high on 140 mg of Vyvanse?

Can you get high on 140 mg of Vyvanse?

Yes, 140 mg of Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine) can get you high and induce euphoria. 140 mg is a high dose of Vyvanse and it exceeds the daily maximum dose of this medication – that is 70 mg.

It is not a wise thing to take a dose higher than your doctor has prescribed. However, Vyvanse is misused because it’s an Amphetamine and has a high potential for addiction and abuse.

Even in that case, 140 mg is quite a high dose of Vyvanse and not everyone can physically tolerate it.

How does Vyvance get you high?

Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate) is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that increases the levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, including dopamine and norepinephrine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter linked to reward, motivation, and pleasure (1).

This dopamine stimulation can induce feelings of euphoria, or get you high. This effect is more commonly linked to higher doses of Vyvanse, and standard therapeutic doses may not cause this effect in every single individual taking this medication.

It’s important to only use Vyvanse under the supervision of a healthcare professional and in accordance with their instructions.

What are the signs of getting high from Vyvanse?

Signs and symptoms of getting high on Vyvanse are similar to those of Adderall. These include:

  • Euphoria high
  • Elevated mood
  • High energy levels
  • High productivity
  • Better concentration
  • Excitation, followed by extreme tiredness

These signs and symptoms are only when you have enough Vyvanse in your system to make you feel that way. However, taking more than that can significantly affect your health and can cause dangerous and life-threatening side effects.

How to cope with the effects of getting high from Vyvanse?

The euphoric effects of Vyvanse usually start to go away on their own. However, you should seek medical attention if you feel unusual. The feelings of euphoria can significantly exhaust your brain and can dehydrate your body.

This is why it’s recommended to drink plenty of water and fluids in general. You can also try adding a few drops of lemon to your water to get rid of the hangover effects. However, high doses of Vyvanse can be life-threatening and it’s not something you should do to yourself.
