From her undergraduate studies to her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Pharmacy, Dr Natália Marcéli Stephanes has participated in numerous scientific studies in the field of oncology and onco-hematology at the University Hospital of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Her research has focused on understanding the molecular and biochemical bases of malignant neoplasms and investigating safer and more effective therapeutic alternatives.
Dr Natália Marcéli Stephanes has also served as an assistant professor of haematology for undergraduate students at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Additionally, she held the position of professor of Hospital Pharmacy at the Qualificar Technical School in Brazil, where she developed instructional materials for use in the Pharmacy Postgraduate Program at the Leonardo Da Vinci University Center.

Will Nucynta show up on a drug test?
Yes, Nucynta (Tapentadol) will show up on a drug test because it is an Opioid and will show up as an Opiate. The entire class of Opioids is included in the standard panel of drugs to be tested so it will definitely show up on a standard 12-panel drug test(1).
Nucynta does not have a strong potential for abuse like other Opioids, but it still can cause it. However, if you’re taking a prescription Nucynta, there’s nothing for you to worry about.

The average half-life of Nucynta is about 4 hours, which is the time taken by this medication to reduce its concentration to half. The remaining attention keeps reducing to half every 4 hours and the entire drug is eliminated from your body within 24 hours.
However, this time period is for a healthy individual. People who have hepatic insufficiency may take a more extended period of time to metabolise the drug efficiently.

You can’t really avoid Nucynta showing up on a drug test and you shouldn’t skip taking the medication without your doctor’s approval. If you’re taking a prescription Nucynta, you don’t have anything to worry about.
It’s the illegal use of Opioids that’s a concern. Taking it for a health condition shouldn’t affect you. Just talk to your healthcare provider and inform the testing authorities prior to the test that you’re using Prescription Nucynta.
You can show your prescription as evidence and ask your doctor for medical documentation that’s required to prove the legal use of Opioids.
