What is the difference between Aleve arthritis gel and Voltaren gel?
The only difference between Aleve arthritis gel and Voltaren gel is that they are manufactured by two different pharmaceutical companies. The rest is all the same.
Both Aleve arthritis gel and Voltaren gel contain the same active ingredient – Diclofenac and it’s incorporated in the exact same quantity – 1% W/V (1,2). In fact, they both contain the same excipients (ingredients other than the active drug – added to enhance physical and chemical stability).
Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and the topical application of this NSAID helps with joint pain and inflammation. Since both Aleve arthritis gel and Voltaren gel are exactly the same, you can use either one of them, according to availability (1,2).
