In this brief article, we will discuss whether Pristiq may cause nightmares and explore what to do if you experience nightmares as a result of taking Pristiq. We will also examine research studies on Pristiq-induced nightmares and briefly mention the possibility of withdrawal symptoms and side effects associated with this medication.
Just like many other antidepressant medications, Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) may cause nightmares in some individuals. These unusual dreams can occur at any point during the treatment with Pristiq.

- Inability to control emotions

The best way to stop an antidepressant is to gradually taper it off. The time taken to discontinue the medication depends on your overall treatment duration, as people who have been on this med for quite a while are more susceptible to Pristiq withdrawal symptoms (3).
So, if Pristiq needs to be discontinued, your doctor will suggest an appropriate taper schedule for you to ensure a safe withdrawal.

- Difficulty urinating
