From her undergraduate studies to her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Pharmacy, Dr Natália Marcéli Stephanes has participated in numerous scientific studies in the field of oncology and onco-hematology at the University Hospital of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Her research has focused on understanding the molecular and biochemical bases of malignant neoplasms and investigating safer and more effective therapeutic alternatives.
Dr Natália Marcéli Stephanes has also served as an assistant professor of haematology for undergraduate students at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Additionally, she held the position of professor of Hospital Pharmacy at the Qualificar Technical School in Brazil, where she developed instructional materials for use in the Pharmacy Postgraduate Program at the Leonardo Da Vinci University Center.
In addition to her academic experiences, Dr Natália Marcéli Stephanes possesses a strong expertise in commercial pharmacy, with in-depth knowledge of medications, their routes of administration, desired effects, adverse effects, and toxicity.

Does Caladryl expire?
Yes, Caladryl does expire. This cream usually comes with a shelf-life of about 3 years. Studies have shown that it can most likely outlive its expiration date.
However, it is bound to become ineffective one day or another as the active ingredient present in Caladryl, Pramoxine, starts to lose its potency.
This is why it’s best to stick to an unexpired Caladryl cream, especially if you’re disturbed because of the symptoms of your skin condition.
What are the possible dangers associated with the use of expired Caladryl?
Expired Caladryl is not dangerous to apply, but not effective either. The drug loses its efficacy and the safety profile also becomes uncertain.
That’s the thing with expired medications and even the manufacturers don’t guarantee the effectiveness of the med once it is past the expiration date (1). This is why you should always opt for unexpired Caladryl.
What to do if you have used expired Caladryl?
If you have used a recently expired Caladryl, don’t worry. In fact, it will help you with your symptoms to some extent. However, if you have accidentally used a very old Caladryl and your symptoms seem a little exacerbated, reach out to your healthcare provider.
