Does Anbesol expire?

Does Anbesol expire?

Yes, Anbesol does have an expiry date printed on the packaging. However, Anbesol will most likely remain effective after the expiration date if stored well.

Anbesol doesn’t become toxic after it has expired, but it can lose its potency. If you happen to have an expired Anbesol and you’re in need, you can try and use it.

If you see some results, that’s good. If it doesn’t, it means Anbesol has lost its potency and should be discarded.

What are the possible dangers associated with the use of expired Anbesol?

Expired Anbesol does not pose any health risk. However, it will not make your symptoms go away either. If you’re in a lot of pain or irritation, I would not suggest you to opt for Anbesol which expired long ago as it may lose its effectiveness and may not help you recover faster.

You shouldn’t generally use expired meds for relief. According to the Food and Drug Administration expired meds, including Anbesol, are not under the manufacturer’s guarantee and there is no easy way to tell whether or not they will help you with your condition (1).

What to do if you have used expired Anbesol?

As I stated earlier, using expired Anbesol does not pose any health risk and might still work if it has recently expired. However, if you feel unusual after using Anbesol, reach out to your healthcare provider.
