Do you take Medrol dose pack pills all at once?

Do you take Medrol dose pack pills all at once?

No, you’re not supposed to take Medrol dose pack pills all at once. The pack contains 21 tablets which are meant to be taken over the course of 6 days. The first dose starts from the time of breakfast.

If you have missed that time and get your Medrol dose pack later in the day, you can wait for the next morning to start your treatment. However, you can also take the missed doses at one time, but it could come with side effects like nausea, vomiting, insomnia, etc.

What is the proper way to take a Medrol dose pack?

As I just stated, the pack has 21 tablets. Let’s see how to take them (1):

  • On day 1, take two tablets before breakfast, one tablet after lunch, one after dinner, and two tablets before you go to sleep. That makes a total of six tablets.
  • On day 2, take one tablet before breakfast, one tablet after lunch, one after dinner, and two tablets before you go to sleep. That makes a total of five tablets.
  • On day 3, take one tablet before breakfast, one tablet after lunch, one after dinner, and one tablet before you go to sleep. That makes a total of four tablets.
  • On day 4, take one tablet before breakfast, one tablet after lunch, and one tablet before you go to sleep. That makes a total of three tablets.
  • On day 5, take one tablet before breakfast and one before you go to sleep. That makes a total of two tablets.
  • On day 6, take one tablet before breakfast and that’s it. You’re done with your Medrol dose pack.

Make sure you take Medrol in the best possible way. This medication may take some time to work, depending on the severity of your symptoms. If you don’t see a noticeable difference in a day or two, don’t lose hope or stop taking the medication.

Some people can take longer to respond to the effects of Methylprednisolone and it is nothing to be concerned about. However, if Medrol fails to provide adequate relief to your symptoms after you are done with the entire course, please talk to your prescribing physician.

Final words
